Appreciate that the Times They are a Changin...

Today is another good day, I had a chance to spend some time with some people who are really new within the work area. They have all been out of school less than 5 years and no one had been working in that area for very long. some had been working in retail, as waiters, as students etc. and all of them are bright intelligent souls who are looking to learn, grow and contribute in the workplace.

This was exciting for me and the best part of my day... really! we met over lunch and we shared some exercises around a topic of: What Does It Takes to Succeed... so we talked about how to build relationships and trust in business.

I asked them to write down who they trusted then they shared... as you know, there are no wrong answers, the people they trust are chosen by each individual for different reasons. they may be family, best friends, a spouse and yes, even a BOSS!

The values and ethics and things we teach and manifest as leaders are really important if we are to positively support and lead others of all ages. Then we moved to a discussion and description of some of the trusted behaviours recognized and appreciated by each one and then of course we talked about building credibility and how each person needs to do that every day.

It was interesting as the newbies shared their thoughts and I was very proud to be included in that circle... Investing time in understanding is also an important principle as we seek to understand what every person brings to the work place along with their bodies. we want their creativity and their sense of well being, their mind and their perfect day feeling needs to be felt within the energy fields they share and WOW can that be powerful and lasting. The sense of responsibility and reliability are all part of what we generate as we share a part of the day with people we work with and people we live with . How lucky we are to be a part of their lives.

INVESTING IN PEOPLE:
Sustain and engage a healthy work environment is a contributing factor resulting in an engaged, skilled and adaptable workforce. If we don't... who will? Today was a great day.

The times they are a changing as Bob Dylan use to sing... new additions to the Canadian work force and how we value each other, our differences and our similarities, our opinions and our sense of social justice and fairness are important attributes of our respected Canadian society.

Today, more than ever we need to understand that change and advancement of communications and culture help us to communicate like never before. Web 2.0 is a great addition to our landscape as we communicate like this, through a blog or the use of other social networking tools. let's get connected, not just through IT and the web, but as people and imagine what listening, sharing and understanding can bring to us...

Remember - You cannot cross the sea merely by looking at the water so I encourage you to take action and see what makes your neighbour tick...
tick talk! :-))
have a great interactive day!

The New Abundance Through Change

Life is Good, Life is what you make of it! I have not input to this blog for a very long time as events of life had over taken me. Today I am starting once again to use the social media available to make sense and to connect with the outside world. Our legacy of communication is one of the most profound tombstone's we can find about a person.

connections care world wide and people can capture their ideal definition of abundance through how they live their life, not just what they have in life that is material in nature.

we all have dreams and hopes for today and the future. I find that we need to live today and the rest will take care of itself as we step into the future and see what is in store for us through the contribution and linkage we care to make with others. we are also enriched through the internal reflection and connection to something more powerful than we can imagine as the power of One is really a connection with the universal power of creation in what ever language or definition you give it.

Spirituality stretches beyond the realm of religion and dogma although it has a great place in society to unify thinking and bring a like mindedness to the practices we embed in our thinking and value system.

Like I said, Life is Good! we need to embrace the life we have as we envision and shape the life we want tomorrow as we amend or continue down the walk of life manifested through our behaviour and our attitude as we interact with others... we represent our true selves.
